Articol publicat in "Cotidianul" - Aug. 2002 - Bianca Brad blames the dilettantism of the native showbiz Article by Roxana Ioana Ancuta Whoever meets her at the worldly events or on other occasions, or watches her on television, wouldn’t say that Bianca Brad thinks of herself as an unlucky woman. For many persons, Bianca is a beautiful woman of success, who “mingles” in pretentious environment. But the truth is different. Bianca is disappointed of everything that happens lately. She says that she cannot finish certain projects that she has been preparing for sometime, because in Romania, she is confronted with the lack of professionalism, with the superficiality of many people. She wants to work especially in her field, the artistic one. It is known that she has finished UNATC and she has even acted in a few artistic movies in our country. In Germany, where she came back from lately, she was in a few TV series and in an artistic movie, a German-American production. She is not attracted by the theatre so much, but, if someone asked her to act in a play, she would accept, in spite of what she says, “There is a mafia and a prosperous jungle there, too”. Beauty presents its advantages and disadvantages. Since her years of faculty (1988 – 1992), she has been wearing the stigma which disturbed her for a long time. Because during those years, she was simultaneously modeling, (she had also won the contest Miss Romania), Bianca Brad had some bad experiences. “I was a sort of black sheep and this I felt even from my first year of faculty. From their point of view, a true actor shouldn’t have other concerns”, says Bianca, referring to her modeling job. At present, she is concerned by her career. But as she declares, for some time she has been unlucky. “In Romania, the artistic qualities are not taken into account; everything is solved at the level of relations and cheap interests of the moment. Everywhere there is a sort of non-professionalism and shallowness… This situation became something normal for what is happening in Romania. I am the type of person who does her job as it should be done. I have always tried to comply with my promises and to finish what I had in mind. Maybe this is exactly the thing that bothers some people”. Sex appeal to the public, but no to the producers As far as her coming back to television shows, Bianca had numerous talks with producers. “I had many talks about it. I don’t understand at all how are they choosing the people?!? I know the public likes me and I have a lot of experience, I can dance, I can sing, I can act and….I can talk! ”. More often it happens that when there is nothing on the professional level, on the other side, the sentimental one, things work better. At least, this is what people say: “Bad luck in love, good luck in business” and vice versa. But Bianca isn’t happy at this level, either. “Do you know what the problem is? I think that men are afraid of me, thinking I am not available. Others are influenced by gossip and have the feeling that I have a superfluous life. Those who tend to believe these gossips don’t interest me anyway. I need a person to protect me, to trust me and in my turn to trust him. I don’t like to be alone. I want a stable relationship and even sometimes I need my independence, I am very loyal”. For a while, it was said that between she and Cornel Dinu there was a love affaire. She says this was a big lie, which bothered her greatly. “All started from a picture appeared in an entertainment magazine, in which I was arranging his tie at the photographer’s indications. From that thing to the fabrication of a love affaire was a short way. “Cornel Dinu is a special man. He had never made advances, nor hinted to me. Besides, he is a married man, and for me married men, engaged men or men with friends or lovers represent a taboo area”. Therefore, Bianca Brad is a lonely woman, but wanted by many men. On the other hand, she still waits for the predestined man, even if he delays his appearance, for the time being.
